Rinnie and Jay - September 10, 2016

Rinnie and Jay were married on the top of Gore Mountain on September 10, 2016. Jay’s family has a camp in the Adirondacks and the couple has spent many winter days skiing at Gore Mountain.

Rinnie and Jay both grew up on the East coast but their jobs and life's opportunities had landed them both in California. Rinnie and Jay initially reached out and hired me for day of coordination. They had chosen a venue in the Adirondacks and knew that wrapping up the final details would best be done with someone local to the venue. A few short months later, jobs were changing for the couple, as well as their place of residence. To relieve some of the stress they asked me to step on board to help with some of the planning as well. Unforeseen events led to the couple's search for a new venue just a few short months before their wedding was to be held.  As I’m sure you can imagine trying to find a venue from the other side of the country is not easy. I scoured the Adirondacks to find venues available for the couples selected date. After a few short weeks the decision to host the wedding at Gore Mountain was made. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason and as frustrating as the venue change was, I am so happy the decision was made for the couple to be married at Gore Mountain. Rinnie and Jay are both lovers of adventure and the outdoors. A mountain top ceremony was meant to be.

Rinnie along with her two sisters and friends spent the morning getting ready in their Adirondack ski home. The ladies from Blush 518 were there to enhance the natural beauty of the bride and her bridesmaids. Rinnie selected bridesmaid dresses that perfectly complimented the gorgeous Adirondack foliage. The gentlemen spent the morning relaxing and doing what boys do best! Have I mentioned this bridal party was a blast!! Be sure to check out their dance moves in the photos below!

Throughout the morning the staff of Gore Mountain was in close contact as a storm was rolling in and could ruin the mountain top ceremony. This adventurous couple said they wanted to take their chances and I am thrilled they did. As guests and the bridal party arrived to the top of the mountain via gondola a beautiful fog rolled in and music floated from the Lark Strings trio creating the most romantic mountaintop atmosphere. The ladies of YTK Photography captured a very personalized ceremony officiated by the groom's cousin beneath Poppy Tree Floral’s gorgeous birch arbor. Once the couple's vows were sealed with a kiss the wedding guests descended the mountain and the real party began.

Rinnie worked closely with Melissa from Poppy Tree Floral to transform the large tent at the mountain’s base. Peach, pink, and ivory flowers were among birch and drift wood vessels on candlelit tables. Family members crafted so many unique items displayed at the reception, a favorite being a sign made by the groom's mother noting all of the places guests traveled from to celebrate the couple's marriage. The evening was filled with toasts causing laughter to explode from the tent, dance moves beyond your wildest dreams and an extraordinary donut display.

By the time we reached the wedding date I was honored to call Rinnie and Jay my friends. It was an absolute pleasure to help them plan their big day as well as work with the amazing team of vendors who all brought incredible energy and fun to the wedding day.

Xoxo , Aissa
