Kristen and Roberto were married at the Historic Barns of Nipmoose on October 6, 2012. The day started off looking grey but as we got closer to ceremony time the clouds parted and all was right in the world. Kristen spent the moments before the ceremony tucked away with her family as Roberto acted as host for all of their guests who arrived on the property by bus. Guests were offered warm apple cider from the Corn Crib Barn and all the majestic country views they could handle. It was the perfect setting for this very sweet and perfect couple to say their I Do's.
The Barns of Nipmoose is a unique venue where there are three historic barns on property, and wide open fields that give you complete privacy from the outside world. The couple held their ceremony in the German Barn and their reception in the Scottish Barn. They had wooden benches for guests to sit on for the ceremony and for the reception they kept with the rustic theme by creating farm table seating for all of their dinner guests. A local farmer came by to take the bride and groom and their bridal party on a hayride at the end of the ceremony which was such a hit among the guests. A live Cuban band got everyone dancing late into the night, and fire pits roared outside for people to enjoy a little quiet time under the stars. Instead of a traditional cake the couple offered pies, and at the end of the night the buses came back to gather them all up and off into the night they rode.
Joining me on this wedding was a great mix of fun vendors. First of course is the uber talented and super sweet photographer Emma Dodge Hanson. Emma your photos are always so incredible but these photos are Kristen and Roberto are just stunning - all are true works of art. Thank you so much for sharing them with me so that I could relive their special day (and get to share it with all of you!). The staff at Nipmoose Barns is incredible, and I send a special thank you to the guys who were there in a flash whenever there was something I needed from them. Caterer Kim Klopstock from Lily and The Rose filled everyone's bellies with their always delicious food, and florist Jordy Baker from Heavenscent Floral Art made the sweetest fall arrangements for the bride and her attendants. The Cuban band this couple hired was Conjunto Guantanamo based in NYC, and also hired Northland Chamber Ensemble to play string instruments for their ceremony. Rentals were from Events Unlimited and the bus transportation was provided by Upstate Transit.
Kristen and Roberto called me less than one month from their wedding day looking for my day-of wedding coordination services. I didn't get a chance to have a long time to work with them but I am so glad I got to meet them and be a part of their big day. Thank you Kristen and Roberto for including me in your celebration! xoxo.
