Hey hey!  We just got word that we are the winners of the AAWA's Regional Choice Award for Best Wedding Planner in the Albany Region!  This award is determined by locals who cast votes for vendors in all categories.  We are so very thankful to all the people who cast their vote for WPP!

A Look Ahead - Allie and Bhas

Allie and Bhas are getting married this June and we have had such a good time putting the details together with them!  Their photographer, Heather Bohm-Tallman, traveled to their hometown of NYC to take these gorgeous engagement photos.  Next time we see these two it will be for their wedding weekend in Albany!

WPP is looking for some talented interns to join our team for the 2017 season!

Wedding Planner/Coordinator Intern(s) - Learn about the wedding industry hands-on by working as an assistant to WPP planners at real weddings and special events.  This role requires attendance at events that typically take place Fridays through Sundays between the months of May and November (the season could be split for the right candidates).  Get a unique opportunity to see everything that happens behind the scenes to pull off spectacular weddings and events!

Social Media/Communications Intern - Spread your marketing/PR wings by helping WPP strengthen our brand online.  The right candidate will be well versed in online marketing and have strong working knowledge of branding on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.  This position is mostly worked from home so self motivation and self management is also key.  This is a great chance to put real job experience on a resume to help propel a newly forged career path!

These positions are unpaid.  College credit can be earned/arranged through participating schools.  Please contact us for more information.

"Words can't explain how happy we are that we hired Wedding Planning Plus for our day-of coordinator service. We worked with Erin Rossi on our wedding (1 month prior and the the day of) and I am not kidding when I said every single day the month leading up to our wedding "Oh my gosh, what the heck would we do without her???". The month before the wedding things become crazy, no matter how organized you were beforehand. Having Erin help us tie up loose ends, coordinate with vendors, remind us about little details and tasks, etc. was absolutely amazing. Then on the day of...wow. Erin and her assistants were there through everything: Handing me water during photographs because it was so hot out, holding my shoes as we walked around for photos so I didn't have to stand in heels the whole time, making sure the ballroom was setup, coordinating with our vendors throughout the day as they arrived, distributing gratuity to vendors on our behalf and so much more. She even negotiated costs with the venue for us as the last minute because we decided to add an extra hour to the reception. Our day was flawless. WORTH EVERY PENNY."

Wedding Planning Plus is hiring for Wedding Planning/Coordinator Interns (multiple positions available). The Planner/Coordinator position requires attendance at weddings and events which mainly take place Friday through Sundays. No additional office work is required, although there are opportunities to learn and experience wedding planning duties during the week. The length of commitment for this position is generally from April through November, although the season can be split for the right candidates.

Ideal candidates are college students or working professionals who have formal education and/or experience in the areas of event planning, communications, business, marketing, or other related fields. Prior experience is plus but is not required, and thorough training will be provided.

"We used Aissa as our “day of” coordinator for our wedding on Jan 1st at the Canfield Casino. She met with us a number of times in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and her advice with regards to various vendors, saved us a significant amount of money and really streamlined a hectic planning process.

While her help in the planning process was incredibly important, her contribution on the actual wedding day was even more valuable. She took on every task from herding groomsmen and maids, to re-arranging chairs and paying vendors. She was with us from the beginning our day until band played their last song (and even met up with us at a bar after the wedding to bring us our room key!). I can’t imagine how we would have pulled off our wedding without her help. This rating scale does not do justice to how helpful she was to us. She could have doubled her fee and still been worth every penny."

I used Wedding Planning Plus for my day-of coordination for my wedding. In the beginning, I was speaking with the owner Shannon and she was beyond helpful in answering all my questions and was not pushy at all. When I finally decided to hire WPP for my big day, I went with a senior planner, since Shannon was a little more expensive and I wanted more than a junior planner. Unfortunately, things with that planner didn't work out and when we voiced our concerns with Shannon, she stepped right up and offered to work our wedding herself with no extra charge. She genuinely cared about putting my mind at ease and making us happy. She went above and beyond to remedy the problem and make the whole process easy and wonderful. She was on top of everything and always there for me when I had questions or needed advice. Even though she was just hired for the day, she took so much worry off of my plate even before the wedding. When the wedding day came, her and her intern Tommie were amazing. It poured all day and they were right on top of getting everything moved inside and set up like I would have liked it. They were there for me whenever I needed anything and just overall so awesome to be around. In the beginning my husband didn't think a day-of coordinator was worth it and after the amazing job Shannon did, we both know it was worth every penny!
