Looking Back - Best Of 2014

Wow, what a year this was!!  

When I think back over the weddings we were a part of in 2014 I have such fond memories of beautiful brides, dashing grooms, laughs, tears, and a lot of awesome dance moves!  Although you can read through the full wedding recaps of our events in the archives of this blog, I thought it would be fun to share our success with a fun post of our Best Moments from 2014.

We planned and/or coordinated nearly 35 weddings this year!  

(Not every couple wants their photos on our blog, and we respect their wishes to keep their moments private.  But we definitely love all of our couples who allow us to share awesome memories like these!)

In 2014 we had couples say I Do all over the Northeast!
This year we traveled to Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, the Finger Lakes, the Adirondacks, the Catskills, and all over the Capital Region to coordinate all of their special days.  We are lucky to have the chance to work in so many amazing wedding venues!

In 2014 our couples came to us from all over -
California, Chicago, Portland OR, Miami, Mississippi, Virginia, Philadelphia, Boston, NYC, and of course all over the state of New York.  We even had a few international events - this year we coordinated weddings for couples from England and from Australia!

We had hot weddings and cold weddings, rainy weddings, and beautifully sunny weddings.  
We also had a lot of fun personalities!

This year we had a few celebrity sightings, as some famous people attended several of our events.
We even had a celebrity bridesmaid.  (If you follow the blog you know who she is!)

We saw some amazing flowers and decor this year!  
Gotta love couples with a great vision, and the florists who knock it out of the park!

2014 was an amazing year for us and we can't thank all of our couples enough for trusting us with your most special day.

Amber and Christian - August 31, 2014

I had the privilege of coordinating Amber and Christian's special day in Lake Placid, New York. It was a wonderful day for a wonderful couple!  Amber and Christian were able to completely relax, take everything in and completely enjoy every moment of their wedding day. There was a looming threat of rain all day - but all we ended up getting was some sporadic sprinkles! Horray!  We all got to work with an incredible team of professionals too!  What a great day...

Amber and Christian's day began at the Lodges at the Crowne Plaza Resort & Golf Club, where the bride and groom got beautified amongst their bridal party. Christine from CARU Salon (NJ) did an amazing job on all the girls hair. Following the bride and groom getting into their attire, they did a "teaser" first look and gift exchange where they gifted one another some pretty sweet watches! Check out the photos below to see the "teaser" first look. It's such a fun idea- it really builds the anticipation for the real first look!

Amber and Christian's first look was priceless- Christian, I will never forget your face when you saw your bride! It was so sweet and touching. Not a dry eye anywhere! Then it was time for formal photos; the bride and groom chose the amazingly talented Jessica Painter Photography to capture their day. Jessica and Ed worked their magic with Amber and Christian, as you will surely see in the photos below. After bride and groom photos, it was time for bridal party photos, then it was ceremony time. Check out that background to their ceremony...absolutely amazing backdrop. The views from the Crowne Golf Club are just out of this world!

The cocktail hour and reception were such a fun time. Kimberly from Elite Entertainment did a great job and kept the dance floor packed all night long. Amber and Christian were truly able to enjoy dancing the night away with their family and friends. The dessert table by Cake Placid was a sure hit, as was the cigar bar that was provided by the bride and groom. Jessica Painter was able to sneak them away for some awesome late night sparkler shots and the couple also did a "sparkling exit" at the end of the night! A truly great event for truly great people.

Shout outs go to Catherine and her wonderful team at the Crowne Plaza Resort and Golf Club for orchestrating a flawless event, Jessica and Ed of Jessica Painter Photography for the incredible photos and for being so "go with the flow" throughout both the planning and the event, Christine Gatto for the amazing hair styles for the girls, Jen from Cake Placid for the delectable dessert and cake spread, Amber's Aunt Debbie for all of the florals, Kim from Elite Sounds Entertainment for the great job emceeing and the great tunes, Bob from Polar Express for the timely shuttle service, and officiant Jerry Oliver for a job well done in regards to the ceremony. Thank you to everyone for making this day a true success!

Amber and Christian, it was such a pleasure to coordinate your wedding day! I wish you all the best for a healthy and happy marriage!

"Shannon worked with us on planning our wedding and she was phenomenal! She was very flexible in meeting up with us during our busy schedule and making sure we stayed on budget. We explained the type of wedding we wanted and recommended vendors that were above and beyond what we could have hoped for. 

As the groom, we had decided on a country club venue before deciding to get a wedding planner and were in the process of signing a contract with them. Shannon advised my fiance at the time that there was a new venue opening up that she should look at. Personally, I did not want to keep looking but was I sure happy that she did. The new venue at 90 State was PHENOMENAL. Without Shannon's guidance we could have not had the amazing wedding that we did. 

If you are on the fence about getting a wedding planner or think it costs to much, I want to tell you that SHE WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. The entire wedding planning process was not as stressful and Shannon was there with us every step of the way.
