Michelle and Bradley were married in Albany on September 30, 2016. Their church ceremony was held at Blessed Sacrament and their reception took place in the brand new Renaissance Albany Hotel ballroom.
I usually start these recap posts with some history about the months or years that I worked with the couple, what their vision was for their day, or any number of tidbits to give insight on how we pulled their wedding details together. I don't actually have that kind of information to share on Michelle and Bradley because these two found and hired me just two days before their wedding! Now I have handled all kinds of challenges in my 10 years of wedding planning but I will say that being hired two days out was a first for me! Michelle had been feeling uneasy about how everything was going to be managed on the day of their wedding, who was going to be there to make sure she got down the aisle ok, and who would be with her at the reception to make sure everything stayed perfect behind the scenes. Like many brides she realized that there are a lot of moving parts on a wedding day and as her day got closer she wanted more and more to be sure that everything were handled professionally so she could just relax and enjoy her day. She called me on Wednesday, we met to sign the contract on Thursday (right before they headed out to their rehearsal dinner), and on Friday I was there to rock the coordination!
Typically I take a whole month to build a wedding itinerary and confirm all details with every single wedding vendor, but with such a quick turnaround there was simply no time to follow my typical process. I was lucky that Michelle and Brad had hired people who all were great vendor friends of mine, and they were able to loop me in on their schedules and the details of their event. From there I tied up a few remaining loose ends just to make sure all of the fine details were just perfect. It felt a little funny to have the vendors supply me with the details instead of it being the other way around, but I have such a great relationship with the vendors Michelle and Brad picked that we got each other up to speed quickly and were all ready for wedding day!
Their photographer is someone I just love - Rob Spring of Rob Spring Photography - who did a great job as always with their photos. Vinny Vin of NonStop Music kept the reception formalities tight and the dance floor full all night. All of the centerpieces and accent flowers were done by Evan Euripidou at Anthology Studio. And Kim Ryan and her team at the Renaissance Albany kept all of the guests happy and well fed.
I always say that one day I will write a book, and in the chapter of firsts I will now be able to list Michelle and Bradley's wedding as the one where I was hired with the shortest amount of lead time. This job is always an adventure, and I thank you Michelle and Brad for your quick trust in me to manage your day!!
xoxo,
Shannon
